In a world dominated by A.I.-generated anything, our mission
is to advocate for, and promote software crafted by people.
A.I. can be a great assistant, but there is no
substitute for human creativity.
Software freedom
End users want to run their software how they want, where they want. We agree, and practice that to. Take for example our code repository: we don't host our code on GitHub, instead we maintain a self-hosted GitLab server. This gives us the freedom to decide who can, and more importantly who cannot, scrape our data.
Keep it simple
Forcing "value-adds" to services is not end-user-friendly. Additional features should be what users want, not what your bottom-line needs. Let's be honest, adding an A.I. chatbot does not increase the value to your service.
How we put the pieces together:
ToriiPlayer
Our first ambitious attempt to put the pieces together: ToriiPlayer is a music streaming service for vtuber fans.
People firstWe have designed the contribution guidelines for ToriiPlayer to permit A.I.-assisted development, but final responsibility rests on the developer. We practice this internally with A.I. supporting complex systems interaction modeling, but implementation and design are done by people.
Software freedom
From concept we have designed ToriiPlayer to be self-hostable and configurable. While we may develop certain features for only ToriiPlayer.com, the core feature set will always be available to everyone.
Keep it simple
Our design philosophy for the core architecture and user interface is to keep things simple: give the user what they want at a single tap.
